The New Haven County crash happened in Milford at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, according to Connecticut State Police.

A 2000 Toyota Camry CE was traveling on I-95 southbound near Exit 29B when the driver tried to overtake a 2016 Honda CR-V EX using the right shoulder, authorities said.

The Toyota sideswiped the Honda before it struck a tractor-trailer, police said.

The crash caused the driver of the tractor-trailer to lose control and roll over the guard rail on the right shoulder, coming to a stop upside down on Route 1, state police said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 47-year-old Hartford man, and the driver of the Toyota, a 24-year-old Ansonia woman, were hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries, authorities reported.

The tractor-trailer and the Toyota were towed from the scene due to the damage, police said.
